The Olympic Games...

...are finally over.
And I'm very happy...because frankly, I'm EXHAUSTED.

I feel like I've attended opening and closing ceremonies (we won't get into that), skiied, skated, curled, snowboarded and hurled myself down tracks headfirst, bent over and feetfirst. I've fallen/crashed/flipped over/pushed and been eliminated from the competition, I've missed the podium by hundredths of seconds, I've beaten olympic records and I've jumped into the gold medal platform with panache...and I'm tired.

I've cheered, I've cried, I've sung the national anthem, I've worn the gear (minus the mittens..I'm still kicking myself for not picking those up) I watched romances blossom, I witnessed horrible sadnesses, I watched young up & comers and have seen final farewell performances.

For the past 17 days I've been glued to CTV, Sportsnet and TSN.
17 days of delicious winter sporting (which I adore more than any summer games) and it's been terrific. I've been inspired, elated, excited and anxious...

I think all the athletes deserve a thunderous round of applause, pats on the back and a chug of beer from the largest pitcher out there. Congratulations...and thank you.

It's pretty safe to say that I will not be watching sports for a little while...I need a rest.

Oh...I will be watching that! Just no more sports for a while.*LOL* Despite the fact I haven't seen any of the nominees for best picture! *ack* But I'm not going to run out and watch them now.*whew*..I've only caught up on the ones from last year.
